Creative agency builds capacity through strategic investment
Published: 14 July 2025
Wolverhampton-based agency Stone’s Throw Media has seen long-term benefits from business support it accessed through Business Growth West Midlands (BGWM) Wolverhampton, enabling it to scale up and strengthen its creative service offering.
The agency, founded in 2011, has become well-established in the region’s creative sector, offering services including video production, animation, live streaming and podcasting. Its clients include leading organisations such as Collins Aerospace, the University of Wolverhampton, DX Delivery, Easy Group and Joblogic.
In recent years, as demand for live-streamed content surged, the Stone’s Throw team recognised the need to invest in its capacity. With guidance from BGWM, the business developed a strong case for funding to support the purchase of high-performance equipment, helping them overcome limitations and expand their live production capabilities.
Beyond immediate improvements to their live-streaming offer, the business also saw wider benefits, with enhanced service delivery leading to increased demand across other parts of the agency.
In 2022, our live-streaming revenue grew significantly, but we missed out on high-profile opportunities due to limited capacity. This funding directly addresses that challenge, allowing us to seize every opportunity and safeguard current jobs while paving the way for future growth.
We’ve worked closely with the Business Growth team for the past seven years, and their support in helping us invest in advanced live-streaming technology has been invaluable. This project positions us for significant growth, enhances our service delivery, and ensures we can continue to provide exceptional value to our clients and stakeholders.
Now with a team of nine, Stone’s Throw Media continues to grow - showing how strategic support and timely investment can create lasting value for creative businesses across the West Midlands.
