Published: 16 June 2025

Through the Business Growth West Midlands Supply Chain Transition Programme, and with support from Newable, Reflexive Education expands its operations in the Health and Med Tech sector.

The programme, launched by Business Growth West Midlands in 2024, focused on free, tailored support and market research for businesses to target, engage with and win new customers in high-growth sectors within the West Midlands economy.

The success story below demonstrates how Julie Jackson, Founder of Reflexive Education, benefited from being involved in the programme. Contact Business Growth West Midlands today to register your interest in future supply chain transition initiatives, and get free support in this area.

The evolution of Reflexive Education into health and med tech

Reflexive Education specialises in providing reflexive educational services for secondary school students and adults. Their key products include ABC State CPD for self-discipline in schools, as well as online courses and workshops focusing on metacognition and maintaining positive mindsets.

What sets Reflexive Education apart is its unique approach of sharing knowledge and understanding reflexively on an individual, relational and social level.

Initially operating in the education sector, the company were interested in expanding its operations.

Navigating through industry collaboration

Reflexive Education identified two main challenges they needed to address:

  • Increasing their online presence
  • Accessing funding

To tackle these challenges, the company recognised the importance of engaging with experts and establishing connections within the industry. By participating in the programmes, Reflexive Education had the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals who provided valuable insights and support.

Reflexive Education has substantial experience within the secondary education sector. During the programme, their Business Adviser, Reanna Bowman, with support from Meera Govind, worked closely with the team to make good use of their experience and pivot the business from traditional education support to growing their community and customer base through an inclusive podcast based on mental health issues that affect all students.

With the support of Reanna and Meera, the company leveraged social media platforms and refined their e-commerce strategy to enhance its online presence, which was crucial to transitioning and forming the plan for the future in the Health and Med Tech sector.

“The enthusiasm and interest from Reanna with regards to social media skills and techniques were great.”

These efforts led to a surge in free subscriptions and fostered connections with educationalists. Additionally, Reflexive Education enlisted the help of a third-party provider to develop its online engagement strategies further. As a social enterprise, the organisation prioritised free and accessible engagement, emphasising active listening in all interactions.

“The key highlight of the programme has been our seamless interactions with Reanna Bowman. Her knowledge, understanding and unique approach are what we value in our business.”

Reflexive Education's vision for transformative impact

Reflexive Education aims to positively impact its target audiences' educational experiences, including educationalists, parents/guardians, teachers, returnees and students with ESL backgrounds.

The company aspires to build a robust educational network spanning local, regional, national and international levels. The reflexive methodology deployed by Reflexive Education has transformed the way participants engage in activities such as reading, writing and interpersonal communication.

Through their product ABC State CPD, Reflexive Education has successfully influenced positive changes in schools, liberating individuals from traditional factory-education mindsets. By prioritising organic relationality, the organisation focuses on creating meaningful connections and fostering collaborative, mutually beneficial relationships. Looking ahead, Reflexive Education plans to continue emphasising a people-centric approach, driven by empathy and human connection.

“We are truly grateful for the time, effort and attention given to assist us with adding value to our social enterprise of Reflexive Education.”
