Have a climate-focused business or idea with the potential to scale?

Published: 29 June 2026

The Climate Innovation Platform (CIP) is open for applications to its Springboard Programme - a free, four-day business development experience designed to help early-stage climate innovators turn ideas into investable, market-ready ventures.

Delivered by the University of Birmingham and supported by HSBC UK, the programme provides the following expert-led support:

🤝 Thursday 9 July: Programme Overview, Business Essentials and Market Drivers
🔎 Thursday 10 September: Defining Value and Developing Your Business Model
💷 Thursday 15 October: Investment Readiness
📈 Thursday 12 November: Strategic Development and Sales

All sessions will take place at Birmingham Energy Innovation Centre (BEIC) at TEP Birmingham (Tyseley Energy Park, B25 8FJ).

Apply here.

This opportunity builds on the proven impact of the wider CIP programme, which recently celebrated the graduation of its fifth cohort - a diverse group of climate innovators working across areas such as energy storage, EV battery technology, solar tracking systems, and home decarbonisation solutions.

Across the programme, businesses have benefited from specialist expertise, investor engagement, and collaboration across industry and academia with several already securing funding and forming new partnerships as a result.
