We offer a fully funded advisory service for Walsall businesses, delivering tailored 1-to-1 guidance, practical support and clear pathways into regional programmes. Our Business Growth Officers work closely with companies across key sectors including the Everyday Economy, Heritage and Manufacturing, helping them access the right advice, skills support and growth opportunities at the right time.

Start‑up support

We provide practical help for individuals looking to explore an idea, start a business, or develop early-stage ambitions. Support may include 1-to-1 guidance, access to workshops and online learning, and referrals into regional start-up programmes. Where available, we connect entrepreneurs to local partners delivering structured or classroom-based learning.

Launchpad - self-employment and enterprise support

Walsall’s Launchpad service offers a friendly, accessible route into self-employment for residents who are new to enterprise. Launchpad provides confidence-building support, idea development, light-touch business planning guidance and signposting to further training or specialist help. It is particularly suited to individuals taking their first steps into business.

Walsall Works – recruitment, training & workforce development

Walsall Works is the borough’s flagship employment and skills programme, supporting businesses with recruitment, workforce development and upskilling. Through tailored advice, recruitment assistance, access to local talent, training pathways and targeted incentives, Walsall Works helps employers grow strong, skilled and resilient teams. Businesses can also access brokerage into adult skills provision, apprenticeships and local training opportunities.
